Week one at Jeff. Street

Well, its now been a week and a half since coming to Louisville, KY and it’s definitely been an adventure for me so far. Leading up this this summer I was terrified to obey God and take this BIG step to come and do the HOPE program, but I finally got to the point where I just had to take that giant leap of faith and say yes to God and put my selfishness behind me. Now, it definitely was not easy I had to say goodbye to a lot of people I really cared about and had many nights of anxiety before I left Tennessee.

One of the biggest things that God had shown me since being here in Kentucky is trusting Him more than I have ever had to in my life. Whether it be trusting Him coming up here on a Greyhound bus, or just talking with a homeless person every step of the way I just have to step out in faith and trust Him. Trusting God is a big deal for me because I have had trouble in the past trusting God because so many people have come in and out of my life especially males. Also, since being in Louisville I haven’t had any anxiety. Praise God!! This experience is definitely a growing one for me and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for me for the rest of the summer!
