“…Cause this was never a story about me”

When I got on the Greyhound bus to come up to Louisville, I asked myself once, “What in the world am I doing? Am I crazy?” But as soon as I had the thought, God gave a peace about everything, even though it did sound crazy. I understood that He had a plan for me, even if I did not know what it was. Since being here I have absolutely loved everything about it. I have met some amazing people that are on the team and that work at the shelter. I feel like I have known them longer than a week and a half.

One thing that I have a history of doing, is not being patient with relationships. I get to interact with the homeless that come to the shelter everyday. I love meeting new people and talking with them, but I need to understand that relationships take time. I tend to want to automatically have people open up and have deep conversations, which can happen sometimes, but for the most part they take time. God is teaching me to be patient and pray for Him to open doors.
